Returning Athletes: Each returning rider will receive a code to register for 2024. The information from last season will be integrated into CCNBikes to make your registration as smooth as possible. Rider registration opens April 1, 2024!
Consider registering for all races in advance with the Super Pass discount.
New Athletes: Contact us to learn more and get the code you'll need to register in CCNBikes.
Even if you're not sure, new riders should really consider registering for races with the Super Pass discount. League policy allows for a majority of the race entry fees to be returned IF the student decides not to race after trying one race. The vast majority of athletes who try a race want to keep attending races. The idea here is to "try it" without significant financial risk :-)
A general idea on what it costs....this is a general GUIDE - please don't take these amounts or timing as the final word - things change every year.
REQUIRED:
Minnesota Cycling Association Membership* $105 (paid when join in April/June)
Burnsville MTB Team Membership $75 (paid when join in April/June)
Bicycle*, Helmet ($50 est. ), Bike Water Bottle ($10 est.) - need these to start practice in July
Lights ($75 est.) needed for Fall week night practices starting mid-September
OPTIONAL:
MCA Race Entry Fees* (Super Pass discount for all events) $150 paid in August
IF RACING - a Team Jersey is required by MCA $80 - purchased through the team - often there are hand me downs available from other team members
IF RACING - some events are over 2 hours one way drive so you may have meals and/or hotels - definitely some gasoline to drive there!
Team Adventure Camp Out Weekend for returning riders $75 - $100 average (June)
End of Season Party $10 - $25 per person - (usually in November)
Racing is optional but highly recommended - the events are lots of fun. MCA offers the Super Pass discounted rate for registering for all team races. IF you are a new rider and, after one race, decide racing is not for you MCA will return the $$ from the un-used races.
Thursday night practices in the summer will be the Buck Hill MTB Races run by Freewheel Bike. Registration for these events can be done online and fee for students is just a few bucks.
*Please note the MCA offers scholarships and loaner bikes.
